These days, just saying that you're a fan of custom Harley bikes is a pretty broad claim. Maybe you like old school choppers, bobbers, or even modern big wheelers? There are so many styles out there in the world today that are so distinctly unique, you just have to be a little more specific.

But regardless of what kind of custom tickles your fancy, we love 'em all. And above all, we favor builds that show off serious talent and craftsmanship. That is exactly what this killer Night Train project from Harley-Davidson Forums member TUFF LUCK personifies.

Make It Your Own

From the day the OP picked up his ride and started his build thread, he has had a great attitude. "Best part of owning something is to make it yours. So here goes. After searching and searching, I finally found a really clean and low mileage NT. I’ve browsed this forum for years, read over the tons of knowledge here, and I've seen some pretty good ideas. So here’s my build."

Sharing is Caring

The first step for this project is ordering up a whole bunch of new parts, test fitting them, then sending them off for powder coating. And the OP is even nice enough to provide us with a complete list of these additions, along with part numbers.

Coming Along

Even with some parts still on order, we're digging where this sweet Night Train is headed. And our anticipation grows even more when the OP slaps on his new wheels and rolls his partially-finished ride out of the garage for a quick pic.

Downside of Perfection

At this point, however, the OP is already worried that he won't want to ride his precious toy when it's finished. Which may sound crazy, but he has a good reason to feel that way! "I’ve spent a lot of time detailing the bike while it’s torn down, so it's gonna be pretty hard to take it out for that first ride!"

Change of Plans

As most builds go, the OP wasn't content with the way things were sitting at first, so he made some changes on the fly. "Got it ahead of myself, but I had to set the tank and seat on to check it out. Love the stance, but I'm thinking I might need some extend forward controls."

Wire Me Up

Even if the OP wasn't fully satisfied, we sure think that his custom Harley was looking awesome, even in half-finished form. Soon, the new headlight came in the mail, which meant it was time to start wiring everything up.

20/20 Vision

At this point, most folks would be satisfied with how this Night Train had turned out. But not the OP. So he ordered up a Heartland fender kit, which took a few weeks to arrive. But once they finally did, and they were fitted, it's easy to see why the OP had the vision.

Winds of Change

And then, once again, the winds of change blew through the OP's shop. This time around, he decided he wanted to go with a different set of wheels. But at this point, who are we to doubt his vision? Now, we just have to wait patiently to see how this killer Harley progresses moving forward!
