World's Fastest Hogs

These Harleys are just flat out better than the rest. Check out these faster than fast HDs right here.

1. 2000cc Pepper

Kitted with the 120RX engine, stretched swingarm and a host of customized extras to aid in its run for greatness, Pepper, a 2015 Harley-Davidson FLTRXS Road Glide Special made its debut during speed week in Australia. The bagger moved through the salt flats of Lake Gairdner, Australia at an impressive 165mph! - Big fairings are becoming more common in races like this as they displace air around the bike much better than those without.

2. Hiro Koiso

With a JIMS 131 cubic inch engine, this 2006 FXD is cranking out 224 horses at the rear wheel. Hiro and his team proudly proclaimed their creation to be the "Fastest street-legal" HOG. The bike proved its might at Bonneville where its best run was clocked at almost 192 mph.

3. Seven Seconds

Andrew Hines, NHRA champion, rides the Street Rod to the quarter mile in under 7 seconds. Although Harley-Davidson has removed this platform from the 2018 line up they are still investing in the NHRA Drag circuit. Perhaps in a year or two, we will see the re-birth of the V-ROD or Muscle as "All-New".

4. Fast Sporty

With an 89 cubic inch motor and a Sportster drive train burning 70% nitro-methane this 1970 orange bullet took Bonneville by storm. Crowned the "fastest motorcycle on the planet" and holding this title for 5 years, this purpose-built Harley-Davidson's speedometer settled at 265 mph on its best run.

5. VRod

Colorado Springs, Colorado hosts an unusual race. A sidecar race up Pikes Peak mountain taking riders on a 5000 ft climb in 12.5 miles and with over 150 turns. In 2003 an unusual entry took the win on a Harley Davidson VRod. The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is no easy feat as it requires a whole different skill to finish it, not to mention winning it.

6. HD VR 1000

Doomed as a production bike due to lack of funding and dedicated research and development the HD VR 1000 project attempted its entry into racing against the Japanese superbikes in the early 90's. The company's efforts to enter this segment of the market proved disappointing overall but the bike itself did perform fairly well against its competitors. In its time this was the fastest or would have been, production motorcycle from Harley-Davidson. There has been some talk in Milwaukee about resurrecting the project but nothing concrete has been released.
