V&H pipes, Kuryakyn Pro-R Hypercharger (pics)
After much bally hoo I finally got my V&H pipes on, with the Kuryakyn Pro-R Hypercharger and the Power Commander III.... s w e e t . . .
looks great, sounds great... runs great....
I must admit I loved the sound of my old Screaming Eagle Slip on's that were on my Sportster... not quite sure which I like better... they both sound great... very different....V&H a little louder
I'm sure the V&H will grow on me when I get more time in the saddle. Fairly cold and have to wear too much gear to adequately hear the pipes...
I did manage about 20 minutes with just a half helmet and my ears were aching...
The Hypercharger? Might not make a big difference in how fast it runs...but a big difference in how fast it looks!
Bad *** my bruthas....

When I said my ears were aching, I meant from the cold, not the pipes....

Edgar, i love your bike man.
I'm debating adding the Kuryakyn Pro-R Hypercharger to my 07 StreetBob, (V&H BigShots and Fuelpak) but the dissing those Kury air cleaners are getting on hereis making me wary.
So can I ask you how you rate your setup several months on...?

I've had it on almost a year. It's great, not the slightest bit of an issue. I had mine installed by the dealer. I'm no good at mechanics of any kind. It's worth it to me to have it done right. I've never had any complaint from things I have done with them.
What negatives are people yapping about. Haven't paid much attention.

Nearly every post about the Hyperchargers suggest that they are all show and no go, maybe even deterimental to performance. Some reckon no better than standard HD kit - which is obvioulsy no good for a stage 1. Others reckon only as good as the filter inside. Well, so long as that's a decent K&N I can't see what the issues are.
I think also there was speculation that the Hypercharger would provide some kind of Ram Air effect, due to it's name, and I guess that some guys have been disapointed by the 'lack of' improved performance above and beyond what the design is actually capable of despite the fact it costs in the region of £200/$400. But I think from the general design you could suspect that this is just a really coolgimmick made for looks.
I think that most of these previous comments have been about the standard Hyperchargers and not the later, specially designed Pro-R type that you have - which doesn't seem to have been commented upon.
Anyway I'm hooked on one and with your positive comments, I think that adding one to the Bob will be this years plan.
Just a couple of questions for you then.

I presume your '07 bike is fuel injected...?
Which kit did you get - K9322?
Did you hook up the butter flies?
If so, how - by drilling into manifold or did you use the new adapter kit supplied with the K9322 kit? Or other kit?
Did you have any issues at all fitting it, setting it up? [/blockquote]
Cheers
