Kuryakyn Saddel Shield install
Well the weathe finall got hot here in Michigan it was 90F on Thursday, I rode the buke to work and thought my crothc would catch fire. I know the 2007 bikes run hot but you really notice it on a hot day. So after a quick stop at Cycle Mart and a purchase of the Saddel shields all I had to do was put them on , problem solved.
Well the Instructions made it look like a very easy install so Friday morning I got started.
Step 1 remove saddel bags , check no problem.
Step 2 remove seat , check no problem
Step 3 insert Well Nuts in holes in Frame , PROBLEM
The holes are there but you can not get to them, there is a plastic channel that holds a bunch of wires over the holes on both sides on my 2007 Road Glide.
Removed Tank bolt , now able to pry them far enough out of the way to gain acess to holes.
No big deal but thought you all might like to know.
PS the glue provided to extend the side cover pins did not work very well, so I used super glue
The end result looks good now I just need a good long ride to see if they help.

I installed the Kuryakyn saddle shields and also had a problem with the side cover extension pins coming loose due to poor quality glue. My pins separated the first time I removed my side panels. Seems this is a problem with the Kuryakyn shields. I would recommend to anyone considering purchasing the Kuryakyn heat shields to throw the glue away that comes with them and don't even waste your time using it because it will not hold up. Use super glue or any type of good quality glue or adhesive. I personally used JB Weld and let it dry overnight. The only thingthat will break mine loose now is a stick of dynamite or C-4 plastic explosive...lol.
I would think we would support the VENDORS HERE (RJs Originals)

Yes they may be a bit more $$$ - But they're not plastic & I think these are Better Looking - Better FIT - Easy to install & Most of all WORK GREAT

i looked at the Kury/HD shields. wasn't impressed. you get whatcha pay for. Although a bit pricey, the rjsoriginals are really the way to go. absolutely no heat issues anymore.
I second RJ orignals. Look great, durable, won't melt when the heat gets to them, and it doen't take some crappy glue and ripping your bike apart to install.
