Default Mutazu Tourpac Mods

Here is a pic of the aftermarket Mutazu tourpac that some love and some hate.

I put a HD emblem on it (which matches the ones I put on my tank).

The smaller LED is a running light.

The larger LED is a brake light. It can really get the attention of someone behind me if I tap the brakes a few times. lol

I removed the RK Custom tank emblem and replaced it with this one.

I left you a post on your 'trailer' thread before I saw this one. I'm very interested in the LED's you put on the Tourpak. I've been looking around for something like this Do you mind sharing some info like:
What kind are they?
Where did you get them?
Tips on installing?

Thanks
Steve

Huge savings! It is a smaller trunk than the HD, but I think the smaller one looks better on the RK anyway.

Tour pac with standard backrest $110 http://mutazu.com/products.php?cat_i...amp;s=prod.php

Wrap around back rest $69 http://mutazu.com/products.php?s=pro...g=IMG_0523.JPG

It comes with mounting hardware that will work on the standard HD fixed rack or the detachable rack.

I did not use the hardware they sent. I picked up a couple of galvanized steel plates from Home Depot and used them to mount to the HD fixed rack. That added about $10 to the total cost.

The smaller LED, which I have on the back and either side of the tourpak, is 12 lights, 4.75 inches wide. I got them from JC Whitney for a whopping $11.99 each. Part # CBN139078

The larger LED is 50 lights and 14 inches wide. $17.99 from JC Whitney. Part # CBN157504

The smaller ones come with double sided mounting tape. Measured where they were to go, drilled a small hole, cleaned the area with alcohol, ran the wire thru into the trunk and that was it.

The larger one comes with double sided mounting tape and metal brackets. Depending on your application, you can use either or both. Since I mounted this below the pak I did not have much surface for the tape. I ended up using a bit of the tape and the two brackets that came with it.

I have had them on there for about 4k miles, a few downpours, several washings, and they are as sturdy as the day I put them on.

Oh, I did silicone up the holes where the wires come into the pak.

Thanks much for the info. I think they are exactly what I'm looking for. For that price I pretty much can't go wrong.

I like what you've done with your ride. It looks great.

I'm liking the Matazu Tourpac more and more, I think it looks great on your bike. Is the backrest pad made by Matazu also? The one on their website has button; your doesn't appear to have the buttons.
