Hack'd, 75.1 hp / 80.6 tq that's impressive for an inexpensive setup. I've got stock numbers + whatever I get from the SE pipes and rejetting.

I've got an Andrews EV27 cam and I'm going to stick it in this winter along with .030 head gaskets to accomplish the .010 over stock compression (the stock gaskets are .040). I'll be installing the K&N filter and doing the CV carb mod. That should make a considerable difference in the performance dept.

I am new here to this forum and love it, I also like the fact that us EVO owners have a place to gather as well.
I have a 1995 Road King, Dave Mackie 530 cam, dyna ignition, mikuni 42mm carb and running thunderheader slip on exhaust out of the right side only..
dynoed 11/27/01 and showed 70.3 HP and 89.2 Torque.

I think I could get alot more power if my exhaust was set up correctly, long story but I originally had Slip on thunderheaders on factory head pipes and prior to dyno tuning the mechanic suggested welding a plate in the crossover to block the left side exhaust and run everything out of the right side. Not knowing any better at the time I had it done and it has always seemed to run fine. But, now I would like it done "right" and am considering either going back to the original style factory headers and my TH slip ons OR a 2 into 1 header with my thunder header slip on. Might also consider the Supertrapp as I have added a fairing and the stereo is useless with the loud exhaust.
Long winded I know but love to talk anyway.......

Bcmc, you will get the most performance out of the 2 into1 exhaust. I haven't heard of the Dave Mackie 530 cam. Sounds like a torque cam which will give you alot of power on your larger bike. Where does your power kick in? High, mid-range or low rpms?

Rude dog,
Power kicks in strong right around 2300 RPM all the way to 4700 where it drops off. Dave Mackie engineering builds a great cam, had the fireball cam in at first and it was OK, swapped the cam and high lift springs when I had an ignition failure due to a bad DYNA ignition.
Thanks for the info on the power increase with the 2 into 1 setup, do you think the bike would run quieter if I ran the traditional style 2 exhaust with crossover.?
Thanks,
Ray

1997 FLSTC - 13,000K+ miles

Stage 1
SE pipes
SE ignition
DynaJet Rejet
K&N breather

Max HP = 59.38
Max Torque = 67.87

Good power band 2200 till 2800 RPM with a slight mid-band sag till 3500 and max 4700 drop-off.

Bcmc, I would have to say I don't think there's a whole lot of difference in the decibel level between the 2 into 1 and dual exhaust. I think it has to do with what brand you choose to install. Don't ask me what brand sounds better because I only know what I hear.

If you're looking for a comparison I would suggest going out to a local pub and look for the bikes with the 2 into 1 exhaust you're looking for. Ask the owner to fire it up so you can see if that's the sound your looking for.

I know I’ve got to get the 87 on a Dyno I have no idea what its putting out. Im running AC,.pipes ,mild intake & head work, pistons, cam, and carb work slide 190 main jet & 52 low speed. But what I do know is that my 05 Springer with AC, pipes and SE Race Turner. Dyno’s out at 70HP and 77 FT LBS of Torque, and that the EVO will run all over the Twin Cam so bad its not even funny.

I know this thread is old but thought I'd post anyway...

1998 FLHPI - 22,000 miles
Harley Race Tuner
Hooker SuperTrapp Slip-ons
K&N type airfilter
Otherwise stock

49 HP 61 Tq

These numbers seem kinda low compared to you guys but the bike runs great...very strong through the powerband. Probably not helping much living here in Colorado at 6000+ ft altitude. Thinking about cams this winter and maybe roller rockers. Any other suggestions?

Hack'd,
Didn't want to hijack your thread, but this is the only way I can post a pic of the FXLR at the present time. I'll post the dyno numbers soon as the new exhaust system and ignition components get paid for .
