I believe in the theme of the bible. Please remember that the bible was written as iterpretations as to what happened many years before the people who wrote it were even born. Yes there was and is a God and yes there most certainly was a beautiful man who was crucified and died for us all but let us also know that the bible in many circumstances was written in part as a way to control people instead of leading them. People were different thenin the way the Rulers ruled with all authority. We have many ways to believe and we may not all agree on the ways but isn't the plain fact that one believes isn the basis for a good beginning? I wrote a couple of messages to you at the beginning of the board as I am new to ther forum but not to the person who has carried me so many times. I believe that I can do much more good while sitting with a group talking with them and sharing with them rather than talking at them and preaching at them. Do we need preachers and leaders, yes of course we do but the louder you preach usually the further peole will back away I have found. They say Jesus spoke softly for a reason and I believe that was to bring people closer to him and to be more interested in what he had to share. Had he stood atop a dais and roared as the avangelists do, do you really think things would be the same as they are now or worse. I lookm like my riding brothers and I would fit in at a clubhouse or a church but what I carry inside with me in my heart is what makes me different. I once had a woman in her 80's sitting behind me in church just reach up and pull up my shirt sleeve to see my tattoos. Her family just about jumred out of there skins but her and I shared a wink and a smile. No words were exchanged between her and I ever but we understood and loved each other . By the way, I was in jeans, black t-shirt and boots and was 30. she was in a dressand a sweater and we were probably the most connected people in that entire building at that time. I bet she thinks differently about all the "bikers" she sees now. By the way, I had never been in that churchbefore. I go to as many different chuches as possible to share my belief with others. Not to change them but only to share with them, isn't that what is important. We can't live in a dictatorship kind of mentallity whether it be governmental of faithful. I truly hope that if yopu happen to read anything that I posted as a new member that you are not offended as that was not my intent, nor was it to stir the pot. I just wanted to understamd you better.
