Forget everything you know about lowering motorcycle front ends, Progressive Suspension has just completely changed the game! Their new since 2009 DROP-IN fork Lowering Kits have transformed a once messy, and time consuming install into a 30 minute cake walk. Pull up to two inches out of the front end of your bike without the hassle of disassembling the forks, pulling the wheel or even changing out the oil and the whole process can be done with basic tools. Shorter springs and Progressive's new secondary compensator spring make short work of the formerly complicated act of lowering your front end. This short instruction will be your guide to removing a carburetor cover on a Harley-Davidson VRSC motorcycle, more commonly known as the V-Rod. Removing the carburetor cover will give you access to the carburetion and will also give you access to the battery.

Remove the Seat

In order to gain access to the carburetor and battery, you first need to remove the seat. On most Harley-Davidson vehicles, removing the seat simply involves unscrewing one screw. Not so with the V-Rod. In fact on the V-Rod, it's even simpler. Just lift the edge of the seat on the "starboard" or right side of the vehicle as you face the front. The seat will lift right up.

For Harley-Davidson motorcycles, gaining access to the battery and other parts means removing a Harley-Davidson seat. For most models, this involves unscrewing just one screw. However, with the VRSC models, also known as the V-Rod, accessing the battery, the air cleaner, and the carburetor is more complicated. Check out these instructions first before you struggle with the "hit and miss" method.
