The only thing I didn't care for on my Road Glide was the placement of the mirrors - too close together, couldn't see behind me well enough. Had the dealer get me some with a longer stem. When I picked them up, they were only about an inch farther out, so I was skeptical - but they make a huge difference. Also got them in black, so they blend in better. Best $70 I've spent on the bike so far!
It's not just a RG thing, it's a touring bike thing. Stock config leave 90% of rides seeing their shoulder in 50% of hte mirror. Marketing strategy.... gotta but sumthin else!
I too would like to see what fixed the problems. And not only can't I see behind me, but I'm using a tall Clearview shield and the stems hit the side of the shield at full lock.
Put long stems on mine to fix the problem, couldn't figure out how raiseing the mirrows up an inch with the extenders was going help so I got the long stem's did the trick. Mine doesn't hit my clearview but I did move them toward me a little
My problem is with the new mirrows that I put on.. they are not concaved and there fore there is a lot that I don't see compaired to the orginals. I would like to find glass that would be concaved that would fit my new mirrows..
