triple tree bearings...
what is the best way to adjust the triple tree bearings...on a 84 FLHTC....

Jack up front end of bike. Slacken the fork clamps, slacken the main nut (and pinch bolt if you have one) drift the adjuster round, tighten everything before testing fall away...rinse then repeat until you are happy with it.

Spanner is in New Zealand and I am in the UK! A service manual will spell out things in great detail and is well worth the layout. Getting the fall away right is key to a sweet handling bike.

Ya i have the book.... but do i do it with the stuff all on, fairing,,,,

If You can manage to loosen the bolts with fairing on the bike then just do it as is.
