Ironically it looks like the 8100 NEX system, which uses Naviextras as the GPS software.

Same freaking company that has it for the Booms!

only thing I really noticed is their terrible taste in music.....lol

Does it retain the PSI and EITMS display? This may be the most hassle free way to go

I doubt that it does. If you went with the metro kit it would, but you would need to mount the other display somewhere to be able to see it.

What about handlebar controls? Is there a kit available? I'm sick and tired of the issues with the DSP. Harley is free to do what they want to, but why reward them for making subpar crap and attempting to force it down our throats. If more people voted with their wallets and went aftermarket like this, leaving HD's shelves full of unsold amps and speakers, then maybe they would start putting more effort into manufacturing quality audio.

Sorry, I'm a wee bit frustrated with the whole thing.
