Default Help me out here

So after a long week of waiting my BT package showed up today. Got everything installed and amp is powering up. But I get garbled garbage out.

I'm thinking I might have gotten a bad line leveler. I will call BT in the morning but right now I am pretty disappointed. The components are really nice and I want to love it but.

Any suggestions from the crowd.

Double check your connections;
Make sure the RCA's are connected properly.
Triple check the ground! I ran my power and ground to the battery.
Make sure you haven't swapped polarity on the speaker wires.

Thanks bunker. I triple checked everything last night but will again this morning. I tried the new speakers with the stock harness and they are good. I checked to make sure the wires weren't crossed were the BT355 plugs in to the front. Tried a new RCA cable. Guess I'll pop the speakers and check those wires, but those are different sizes so no screw ups there.

Will probably check the ground. I have it grounded to one of the bracket mounting bolts right now.

Tried checking my output from the LOC but I am only getting 0.1 on my crappy craftsman dmm. Gain turned all the way it goes to .3-4

Yeah, I ground to the battery just in case, I've seen a lot of issues with grounding so I wanted to be sure.

That's REALLY low on the output, I was getting .5/.6 with stock setting. I have mine set at about 2.0 right now with the gain cranked up a little. I can get to 2.5/2.6 maxxed.

So now I am not certain the LL is bad. Went to autozone this morning and picked up a cheap metra LOC. Same thing. So now I need to go get some wire and run my ground back to the battery. Amp comes on, just the sound is hot garbage.

And my readings may be off, this little craftsman meter may not get that low.

ok, just putting this out there... you did install a fuse in the fuse block right? Amp will turn on with the remote but no actual power to it, just lights up, when you leave the fuse out. Don't ask how I know

Let me run this down.

Swapped LL with LOC, no joy
Ran ground to battery, no joy
Changed RCA cable, no joy
Checked head unit with stock speakers and the new 6.5s, nothing

Getting frustrated

If you did all of that and got no good sound, then it's none of those things.

Please post pics of your install. Make sure you push your RCA's ALL the way in on the Amp. Make sure you have a green light at the amp. etc.

If you had bad sound with the LL and put and LOC and it still sounds like crap, then it's not the LL. Check your sound source as well.

Start at the radio and work your way down. First connect the radio to the speakers. If the speakers work, then it's not the radio OR the speakers. Then to the amp, etc.
