My new Kenwood deck arrived and I was curious about getting it wet.
My stock HU can take water like a champ but this one is clearly not the same. What do you guys do when washing the bike, just cover it with a towel or something?

If you are referring to the face of the HU, then put the rain cover on when washing the bike. Assuming you have a pre Rushmore here are a couple of choices. Scosche HDWS1B Radio Cover. I have found the BT Splashcover to fit more snugly.
I've been hesitant to buy a face plate cover as BT clearly states they only work with the retro kits. I have a MEX-M70BT radio and the front mounting plate is basically flat. Will one of these covers work?

As you can see in the pics the Scosche is thinner around the outside and leaves more room for the face plate. I haven't used a Sony HU so maybe a Sony user can chime in on fitment.
I have a Sony MEXM70BT and the chrome Radio surround that also goes around the lower gauges and the BT splash guard works great for me. Not sure but guessing the splash guard would be the same with or without the chrome bezel thing on there.

BT has 2 different splash guards. One fits their Retro install kit. The other, which is what I use, fits the Metra install kit.
I use the one on the top in the pic. Seals just fine.
