Default Lids or lowers

2009 cvo road glide. I'm running a set a hsk xl's in the front bridged off of a micro4v2. I want just a bit more and am trying to decide what would be better for me, lids or lowers. I ride mainly solo but the wife does come with on occasion. If I do lids I have access to hogtunes 6×9 lids with pioneer pros. For lowers I don't know what would even work best hence the post....

Do both. Lowers will get you more in your face sound and the right lids and speakers, which you have access to the perfect ones, will complete the sound.

I would do lowers before lids all day every day. two speakers in front of you, pointed at you versus two speakers behind you pointed straight up. Granted, I have both but I heard a much bigger impact when I added the lowers versus the lids.

I'd reach out to HAZE and check out the tempesta speakers highlighted in this thread:

I took a chance on some Orion CM64's in my lowers. Play loud and clear with decent range for a midrange. $48/shipped on Amazon. FYI...
