Bike won't start after ape install
Hello all, I went ahead and bit the bullet and installed a set of 12" Tods strip bars with the burley kit on my 2009 lowrider. Everything seemed to go together alright. When I first sat on the bike I hit the run switch and heard the fuel pump prime. I didn't start it though, now when I sit on the bike I'm getting nothing, except the little red light for the security system. I've tried a different key just in case the battery was dead and still nothing. For what it matteres I also removed the front turn signals (I was having a hell of a time getting all the wires through the bars). Could this be my culprit?
Thanks in advance.
Anthony
Edit just looked at the fuses and #14 was blown. (14. Ignition fuse (15A)), looks like I prolly got a short in the grips. Or it coulda been a fluke.
Thanks in advance.

I messed with my wiring and now something don't work...where have I heard this before?
I used to make a pretty decent living fixing things like this.
Stop gnashing your teeth and go back and check what you did. Your start/run switch or your start switch wiring is messed up somewhere...one or more of the wires could be broken at the switch, broke or shorted in the handlebars when you pulled the wires through, miswired at the connector, contact not locking and making connection in the connector, and, finally, a blown fuse caused from one or all of the above. Take your time and you will find the problem.
Good luck.

I just replaced my son's handlebars with mini-apes this afternoon...the wiring for the start/run/start switch runs on the front side of the handlebar and over the top, front being the front of the bike...IOW, the wires will go to the front of the housing, around the top of handlebar to the switches. The wiring is routed with the turn signal and brake switches wiring in insulation tubing and are zip-tied down to the turn signal switch mounting plate and then run straight out under the front brake master cylinder then either into the hole for internal wired or to a cable clamp for external wiring.
