I don't want to sound like I'm but I think I've found the problem: Remember, I had changed handlebars (and switches) and when I went to start 'er up, nothing. When I swithched 'er on, then mashed the start button, nothing happened. Not even an "errr..." The only thing I heard was a clicking. I was told by some other members that it may be that I've created a short when I re-did the switches on the Ignition side - that the clicking was probably the breaker kicking in and out. Well I took off the L/H cover (where the breakers live) and and listened. Sure enough, the 30 amp (main) breaker was making the clicking sound. Well, I took the switch housing off on the R/H side and, once loose, flipped the switch to "on" and mashed the start button. The motor turned over. Problem solved (maybe); When I went to put the switch housing on, just to see, I noticed a small spark. There-in lies the problem. A short. As soon as I get a chance, I'm going to take the brake off and look at my wiring. I'll keep ya posted.
You most likely pinched a wire then and it is grounding out when you put the housing back together. If you can find the pinch and the wire is not damaged, just the insulation, you can slide some heat shrink down to where the damage is and shrink it up. Should be a long term fix.
If the wire is damaged, you may have to replace that wire for the full length to do a proper job. Not as hard as it sounds, just get the same color coded wire from Radio Shack, de-solder the end at the switch and pull the pin side out of the connector. Tape the new wire to the switch end of the wire and use the old wire to pull the new wire through the harness. Crimp on a new pin at the connector side, put it back in the connector and then solder the wire back on the switch.
