The switch on top is bad. I ordered a replacement from the Harley dealer. The switch on bottom is what they sent. I was expecting the same switch with the same connector and not expecting to have to wire anything. What am I missing? Do I need to get a connector and wire the new switch into the connector? '99 Lowrider. Thanks for any advice!
I would cut, splice, solder and heat shrink the new switch to the old connector. Leave the main wiring harness intact. You can even get adhesive lined heat shrink to be sure of a water tight connection.
Don't use crimp connectors, use solder on a properly joined section of wire and it will never come apart or affect resistance. YD
