Default Where to mount the speedo on T's

I want to put 8" t bars on my '08 FXD. It currently has a single gauge on a bar mounted bracket with integrated dummy lights. I'm looking for a better way to mount the speedo and lights without using the stock mount. Too bad I don't have the tank mount gauge, as that would solve it. But I've got to find something that will mount to the t bars, but I don't want it above the bar like it is now.

Any suggestions?

Tx

What brand tbars are you going with? Most of the makers offer some way to mount your gauges, most will weld on bungs either high or low for them. Some companies sell clamps that mount to the riser portion and can slide up and down so you can position your speedo.

I believe these will work depending on how high your bars are. You may be able to put the speedo above the tank in the inside of the bars.

Yea the accutronix mount is what I use. You need to pick up the single gauge mount from Harley to go with it tho

I'm going low. No higher then 8" prob. Have to work within the limits of my current cables as well. The bike has low bars on it now. See photo. Also, the current config has the control wires on the outside of the bars. I'd like to run them inside if possible, without having to extend them. I'll have to see how much slack there is I guess.

I see what you mean. the current gauge is also the clamp for the bars. So that'll have to be replaced for sure.

I mounted mine the same way as Sonnydaze. The frame clamps work great. Mount one on each riser portion of the bars and bolt on your speedo. Simple.
