Default Now I'm a Low Rider...

I took a cruise to my local dealer yesterday and ended up riding out on a 2015 Vivid Black FXDL. The only thing I got was ABS, which was the only thing I wanted from the factory. Swapped my tallboy seat from my '08 FXD that took on trade and away I went. My initial plan was to paint the tank and get a traditional badge, but honestly, the red HD name graphic is growing on me. I just may keep it (for a while at least) - Anyway, as I build the list for things to do, a couple of questions come to mind.

1) are all >08 Dyna battery covers interchangeable? I just don't like the LR cover and would prefer a plainer one like what was on my FXD.

2) I heard that they released a new 5 3/4" daymaker - is that out yet?

3) WHEN WILL THE SNOW STOP? I rode it home yesterday in clear 47 deg weather and woke this morning to snow... Painful.

Immediate Plans:
LED's all around.
Fork mount for the fronts.
Some pipes?
8" Wild1 T-bars, like I had on my FXD.
Dual gauge bracket to move them up on the bars where I can see them.
Something to fill in the two holes I'll have in the tank when I move the gauges.
Maybe a 7" headlight bucket since the one on it won't work once I change the bars.
More miles!

Winter plans:
Fork suspension. Ohlins maybe?
Rear Ohlins.
Pirelli Night Dragons
Sadness while she hibernates.

Anyway: Here she is, resting happily on a Droptail trailers cycle glider in my garage spot.

It was actually a complicated trade situation... I had two bikes I wanted to get rid of. A 2015 BMW S1000R, which I knew I would take a bath on. As you know, the moment it leaves the dealer drops significantly in value. So I was fully expecting to take a loss on it. However initial discussions had the Dyna at a lower trade then I wanted, as I wanted to offset the upside down financing on the BMW, with the value of the Dyna. Long story short, after negotiating, they gave me a better then expected value on the BMW, and a much better number on the Dyna. Paid off the BMW completely and had value leftover to cover the downpayment and then some.

I rode away a happy man.

It feels like just yesterday I did something new to my old FXD. Oh wait, it was. Sigh.

Well, it will all be easier having done it before...
