In regard to the battery cover.......the "Low Rider" placard is removable as it is held on by double back tape. Once removed it leaves a plain chrome finish as seem below. I wanted black so I found the closest model year bike and replaced both side covers.

CONGRATS man!!! I'm super jealous! Well in all honesty I'm jealous of all of you because I do not on a Harley yet. I was looking at a Sportster 1200T then I sat on the Low Rider and its a no brainer for me when I'm ready.

I'm with you on the battery cover. That was the first thing that crossed my mind, can I find a replacement for that. Enjoy and ride safe!!!

That's great. What did you buy if you don't mind me asking?

The change makes perfect sense to me. At 5'10", the R was a little too cramped for me, also. The R1200R, previous or latest generation fits me better, just not as nimble and fast. tp dd50

I knew you we're going to ask me that.

I need to do some searching to come up with the part numbers I ordered.

Excellent, thank you. Now that I know they are "universal" - I may go with the same one that was on my 08 FXD - black with a brushed stainless band. I liked that one.
