If you already have the bracket installed on your engine use the p clamp. More support is a good thing.

I had to go out and buy one , the fatbob came without. But I felt it was necessary since it supports very close between the headpipe and slip. IMO if your supporting only theback of the slip and the rest is held up at theexhaust flange you would be creating too much flex, that could actually make you loose some of the intended power.

It is after all not a hard piece to aquire and it's cheap insurance that you won't develop some kind of problem.

Yeah good call guys. I never removed the piece under the engine so it seems like all I will need other than gaskets will be the p-clamp, nut and bolt. I can't seem to find the part number for my bike but similar Dyna's seem to be 65946-07 any of you guys know for sure?

thanks as always for the great advice!

Just put a SuperMeg on my 08' FXDF, felt the P-clamp was a smart investment. Here are the part numbers I used.

3 942 SCREW, HEX SOC.
1 5414 BOLT, CARRIAGE, ROUND HEAD
1 7601 NUT, FLANGE LOCK
1 65440-06 CLAMP, EXHAUST, TOP
1 65441-06 CLAMP, EXHAUST, BTTM.
1 65975-99 FRONT EXHAUST MOUNTING BRKT

Yeah, as shizims mentioned above, the p clamp comes in two pieces but when I went to order the dealer parts catalog makes it look like one piece - but it is actually two different pieces top and bottom, make sure you get both. Also read the instructions carefully; top and bottom pieces are different and must be installed in proper upper lower position.
