Default A lesson learned/ exhaust

For about the last 3 years I have been running a Stock Head Pipe with CAT removed by Fulsac. CVO mufflers with 2 inch Fulsac Cores. This full system cost me less than $450.00 I went with the SE Super Tuner and a Stage 1 A/C and had it Dyno tuned. Last year I upgraded to 103 with SE255 cams. Again tuned with the same exhaust. That system looked and sounded good. Pretty quiet until I hit the throttle.

For some reason I got a wild hair in Sturgis and bought a Freedom Performance dual exhaust. With the contrast end caps on the American Outlaw mufflers they looked really bitchin and sounded really good on the demo bagger they had. I popped out the 1K and had them install them. After install they said they could not work with my tuner but they should be okay.(wrong). I told them what tuner I had, but they waited until after the install to tell me this.
Okay story is getting too long. I got it dyno tuned today. Tech said parameters were way off and I was running lean. He had to completely re-tune for this new exhaust. He did not show me the numbers but said the new exhaust delivered minimal if any performance increases.
Sometimes you just got to stick with what is working for you.
With that said, it feels to me as if this new exhaust has provided a bit more torque at higher speeds, but that could just be the exhaust note difference

sad to say but never buy at a rally- prices are usually higher...tech talent is slim...and they are working in a parking lot...hungry, tired, hung over sun burned etc.

and those vendors know they won't ever see you again if there is a problem.

that's a tough break man, what im wondering is, did they keep your old set up or di they have them shipped to you back home? reason being, an option you have is to put the old one back on and have the old map flashed back in and sell the new exhaust and try to recover some of the hit.....

just thinking out loud.....

They didn't give you the dyno sheet either time? That's very suspicious. Everyone I've ever known that dyno tuned has the sheet. If he didn't have your old sheet, then he just happened to remember all of your numbers from last year? I just don't see how he could tell you that without comparing the sheet from the old pipes. You might want to inquire about that.

I have both sets. Shipped the other set home. It is a done deal I am keeping the Freedom Performance exhaust on. The bike is now tuned for this exhaust. Not gonna go backward. I never said I didn't like it. Maybe some late buyers remorse and a little disappointed there is not a significant performance advantage.

The Dyno sheet from May 2012 with the previous set up: 87hp 100 torque.
I didn't ask for the sheet today and will see if I can get it
