My Project - 2002 FXDX

It's awesome to see these pictures, as I've toyed with an HD quarter fairing on my (extremely similar) bike for awhile...
I think I would order the Bung King adapter plates to use the HD quick release clamps, as I have a set of them doing nothing in my garage right now...
Thanks for posting these!

Did you get it from the original owner? 11k miles is nothing on a 2002. Garage queen.

Was the seller close to you or did you have to travel to get it? I have never bought off of craigslist but have been looking at it for a few years. I know there are some real deals to be found. Looks like you found one.

Yes, it was a fantastic deal too. If I said what I purchased it for, you wouldn't believe me, so I'm going to keep that information to myself.
The seller was the second owner.

I ditched the Biltwell seat. It wasn't the best fit and had some wobble side to side. Back to the stock seat.
After adding the fairing, riding on the expressway was a nightmare at anything over 60 mph. I was getting blasted right in the eyes. This most likely wouldn't be a problem with a full face helmet, but that's not what I wear, although that may change in the future.
I decided to try the Laminar Lip made for the HD Quarter fairing. I was unsure how I felt about the looks of it at first and wasn't all that fond of the fact that it just sticks on to the fairing.
However, this thing works like a champ. Shoots the wind right up over my head at 100+ mph. Even ran the bike at the local drag strip for their Harley Drag Night and the wind screen worked great. As far as the looks, judge for yourself.
Hopefully I can get my new Westcoast MX bars installed this week.
