How far over 1,000 miles can I go ??
I'm sitting at 897 miles, it's only June 1st and my1,000 mile checkupisn't until June 18th. So...my question is how many miles did some of you go over before you got your bike in? The one tech says it's not a " big deal" to be over but said in the same breath.."we just don't want it over too far". What's considered ok? The weather here in central Ohio is FINALLY coming around and I'm not going to let the bike sit tilll June 18th. so I don't cause any warranty issues.

I went 500 miles over. I told them if that's enough go void the warranty, then they built a piece of junk. Got over 33 K now. I use what lube came in the bike and change the engine oil at 5,000 miles. If they wanted me to used Sync 3, it should have came in it. But I also purchased the 5 yr extended warranty.

I was a couple hundred over.
I don't know what the warranty "letter of the law" is, but the "spirit of the law" will be interpreted differently at each dealer.
I would plan any multi hundred mile trip(s) before now and then.... but then, of course, you could just do the service yourself.

They told me anything more than 250 miles over and they were going to start getting "iffy" about my first inspection. Crock 'oshit the dealers, they can write any mileagethey want on the report. Keeping in mind itis very important to get your break-in oil out of there Ihave two suggestions for you.
1: find another dealer with some available time there must someotherdealership within 100 miles of your home.
2: Some independently owned , HD approved cycle shops are authorized to do this work for you.
After all you can't very well leave the bike parked for 16 days waiting for them to clear a spot for you! Cheers and ride on man!!

Nothing wrong with taking it in early. I think I was about 950 miles at my first service. Dealer shouldn't care, but if he does I would find another dealer. I would get the "break in oil" out earlier rather than later because of metal shavings and and any other junk that might be in the engine. JMHO
