I've already got about 1100 miles on my Street Bob and won't be able to get to the dealer til Tuesday and I wanted to ride a coupla hundred miles on Sunday. Will it void the warranty if I'm over on the miles for the checkup.
I don't think you have to worry....some folks do their own service. Unless you make certain types of modifications, you're warranty is good. I would imagine that if HD could somehow prove that you neglected to have service done (or done it yourself) over a really long time, and parts failed because of it, then they may not honor your warranty. But I wouldn't worry about going a couple hundred miles over on a service.
Mine went in at 1600 and I never heard a peep from them about it. All that dicking around waiting for pipes before doing the big bore kit and the mileage piled up. Apparently not a big deal.
Thanks for the replies. Turns out it rained all day yesterday so I didn't have to worry about it.I did get to spend a lot of quality time in the local beer joints so all was not lost.
What does the stealer charge for the 1000 mile service?
I just had mine done about 2 weeks ago and they charged me $165.76 w/ synthetic oil.
I guess yours would be considered a Dealer and mine a Stealer since I paid $325.00 + tax last week for mine and I furnished the Redline Shockproof Heavy for the tranny. I checked a couple of other HD stealers in the Phoenix metro area and they were a little cheaper but not much.
