Anyone seen cowbells for 49mm forks...ie a Fat Bob? Instead of gaiters...part of the look I'm working on for my FXDF...also thinking FLH style 2-1; kinda wanna go to a swingarm FLH bobber look...at least the shocks are in the "right" place on the FXDF.
If someone made them, I would already have them. Current 49mm sliders are very close in diameter to the cowbells, meaning they would most likely hit and rub.
The fender mount would hit the cowbell unless you cut a long grove in it. Adds too much weight as it does nothing to enhance the bikes handling IMO.
Forgot about the fender tabs. I started on this about 2 years ago and that was the stopping point. As far as weight, if I was worried about that little bit, I would go to Weight Watchers and lose the 40 lbs I should lose.

Reason: typo
The top of the fender mount is 3 1/2 inches down from the bottom of the fork seal; that's OK; the mount tab on the stock fender would interfere; I'm looking at a Klock Werks front fender and mounting blocks anyhow but I see the problem as the diameter of the top of the lower forks is larger than the underside of the trees which means the top of the cowbell would stick out all the way around where it meets the underside of the trees...hmmm...
i was just talking to a customer about making a set for his bike... i dont see it being that hard to mod out a set of stock touring ones , drill and tap the lower tree and then like Howard points out, cut out the bell for fender travel
