Take a picture of your primary side and post it.

If the nub is still there, it should be easy, no need to pull primary.

Depends on how the person put the forwards on.

no he has to pull it, the linkage arm is different on the 06 and up ... your going to need a locking took (piece of wood works just fine) large socket (dont know off hand) impact or breaker bar, and tq wrench... also replace the 5 inner primary bolts, shifter shaft seal, primary gasket, and i think a tower washer seal if i remember off hand

do have to say the older dyna's that was pretty nice how you could flip from forward to mid in just a short amount of time

You will need some specialty tools. Look at the thread I posted a while back about 06 inner primary eying replacement. Also while you have primary off you should also fix your stator, ipb, and upgrade the front sprocket. Perfect time to do it

thanks guys (joe do I really need to replace those bolts and if so do you know how much are they ?) I already have for 94$ in gasket and seal (at least I'm saving up on work money by doing it myself) Yeah it's a pita that they changed the system from 05 and low to 06 and up I don't have any spare money to change everything you just mentionned and i'm not sure it hasnt been already made+ maybe when i'll take it off again to send the primary to be gloss black. but the video you mentionned would be greatly appreciated

Here is a link to a write up I did on taking inner primary off.. Not all the info you need but will give you a general idea of what your getting into. After you get it off you can install your mid mounts. But seriously though if your gonna do anything I would address the stator bolts on your 06.. Do a search on here its a pretty big issue with the 06's due to the 2 piece design.
