Default Redneck lowering job

Thinking of lowering the frontend a tad. Rather than do the frontend lowering kit right away, I thought I'd try a redneck way. If I run the forks up into the trees a half inch higher am I asking for trouble? Thought it would look pretty stupid, but really doesnt and most people probably wouldnt notice anyway. I would think everything would clear, but wondering if anyone has had issues with this.

You will find this done in the Under $50 thread. Nothing wrong with it, make sure you have clearance between your bars. Under $100 for lower spring kit though. That is what I did.

i have always done this with other bikes.....one great tip is to put a zip around the fork tube right above the fork seal then ride it for a couple days. see how far it moves up then gauge sliding your forks tubes up based on that so you dont go too low and bottom out the lower tree on the fork seal.

Great tip, I plan to be doing this over the summer at some point.

I did that on one of my bikes but added clip on bars on the upper part of the forks.
I think it looked good but sure hurt my back LOL
