Default HD quarter fairing

I got my quarter fairing back from the paint shop a couple weeks ago and installed it. The wind screen and head light cover that come with it didn't fit well at all. I was surprised how bad the fit was actually. It kind of pisses me off. But that's another topic. So...I ordered the replacements from Cee Baileys. The head light cover fit perfect. The wind screen part still doesn't fit too well. It's just a little to wide so once it's on it causes it to bow out a little and now I have a big gap across the bottom. Anyone else have any issues with this? Anyone trimmed it at all?

Can you trim it down just a bit? I know you shouldn't have to with a brand new product, but it might help.

What did you trim it with? I just don't want to tear it up. It just needs maybe 1/16 of an inch taken off the side and it should fit perfect. I was thinking of taping up the sides so I don't scratch the outside and sanding rather than trying to cut it. Suggestions?

That will work fine. I've used a Dremel in the past with no issues

Tape/mask it & sand it. More control then a power tool. I must have gotten lucky with my HD 1/4 fairing, every thing fit just right.

I ordered the replacement from ceebaileys. The headlight cover fits perfect. The tinted windscreen doesn't fit well at all.

Yeah harley is trash. The cee bailey stuff normally fits like a glove.

Yeah...that's what everyone says. The ones from harley don't fit for ****. The ones from Ceebailey didn't fit will either. Much better than the Harley one....but still. The cee baileys one still is a little to big and bows out at the bottom.
