Woods 555 cam question. ('12 Fat Bob)
I'm gonna cam my '12 Fat Bob. (PV-2, KN intake, de-catted header W/ V&H Slashcut slipons.) I'm leaning towards the Woods 555 and I'm hoping for some feedback about whether it's fairly aggressive ramping creates excessive additional valve train noise. (Not removing the heads so I'm retaining the stock 9.6:1 compression ratio.)
I'm also planning to go w/ S&S Quickee pushrods. But there are several different models that supposedly fit the 103 with little info as to the differences between them. So 2 questions there: Which is best for the above mild build? And is there an aluminum version?
I ride fairly fast and usually between 3k-4.5k with occasional twists up into 5500 rpm. No passenger. I am basically looking to turn my motor into what it should've been when I bought it.
Local temperatures can go over 100 degrees 4 months/year.
I've searched & read every related cam thread, but I'm hoping for more specific info re the 555 from people who actually run them. Appreciate your suggestions.
TIA

I do have a Supermeg. I just yanked it off & went back to the de-cat W/Slip-ons setup. I'm currently using vieds. Planning to order the PV2 and cam from FM pretty quick. I'll prolly try both pipes again after the cam/tuner install but I felt no benefit to the Supermeg over the de cat/slip-ons on the stock motor.
Re the compression thing, I may do the FM Level B heads later. (I'm a little concerned about the additional heat.)
Definitely not gonna pull heads to only change to the .030 gaskets.
My understanding from all I've read is that the 222 is basically a bagger cam. (Heavy, low rpm, ridden more conservatively than mine.) Are there a lot of more aggressive Dyna riders using it?

TW-555 runs just fine on my 96, I am using these cams becoz I am planning to do a 107 upgrade coming winter. It pulls hard from 2,800 rpm all the way up to 5,500prm, even riding 2up is great with extra power. People are also having great result with the new TW-222 stock 103, check that out!

I heard that 222 is a bagger cam stuff myself but ended up going with the 222. However I was looking for more power in the low to mid range. I did however look at the dunno sheet on fm website and it looks like it does well skull the way to red line. Check out it, if your going to leave it otherwise stock I would say 222 is the way to go. If motor work it's coming soon then find one that's great for then and good for now.

Compression is the issue, not displacement.
