Default Exhaust advice

Finally looking to change from SEII slip ons with Big City Thunder monster baffles (the decel popping is making me insane) to the Rush Short Series Straight Cut Full Exhaust System.

The price is certainly attractive... Does anyone have these?

Those are good pipes. But they may / may not solve your problem. All short pipes are bad about popping.

Yeah, I seriously doubt those pipes will solve decel popping. I have a nice tuner(PowerVision) but it still requires a lot of tweaking to get rid of decel pop with my Bassanis.

I'm not a scientist/mechanic but I have the V&H with only the fuel pack and SE intake and I have popping on decal. My buddy who rides a Night Rod says it gives my bike "character". One of these days I will upgrade to a PC or some other completely tuneable system and hopefully get my engine dialed in. There are a bunch of guys smarter than me on this forum that should be able to weigh in and give some advice.

The hardest pipes to tune are the short ones. The pipes and baffles you have are some of the easiest to tune, so it might be worth your time to work with the tuner you have to cure your problem. Before you go and spend money maybe you should try to get your tuning set up properly. You may also want to check for exhaust and intake leaks since no amount of tuning will solve mechanical issues.
Then again, if you just want new pipes...

I appreciate the feedback fellas, but you guys all have fuel injected bikes.

Would the fact that my bike is carbureted be a contributing factor to the extreme popping of my SEII's... especially considering the BCT monster baffles that are in place?

Would the fact that my bike is carbureted make the prevention of popping once the Rush exhaust is installed somewhat easier?

Opinions on the baffleing options of these...

I already placed the order.

Thanks again for your comments and/or opinions.

If you want your bike to stop popping, you'll need to get a proper tune...preferably on a dyno.

If the popping is due to improper fuel mix on decel ( I think it is ), then you still need tune / jets.
