Default Thunderheader Bracket Clamp Help for '08 FXDL

Hi Guys,
Does anyone have a solution for slipping the Clamp (part number #1182) past the O2 bung on the rear exhaust pipe?

Thanks!

You gotta pry it open to get it on. Retarded design

I'm trying to think... I think I put it in the vice with a rag wrapped around it and stuck a pry bar in it. I can't remember how far I had to open it up (just need enough to get it past the bung) the bitch is trying to get it closed back up after sliding it on the pipe. Try not to scratch the pipe! Good luck man

No problem enjoy the new pipe. In a few months you won't have a single pair of pants without burn marks or holes on the right leg. That pipe runs super hot. Good thing it sounds killer!

Okay, for anyone else who has this problem in the future, I went down to princess auto this morning and bought a disc brake piston spreader, worked like a charm. Sort of like a reverse vice. My Thunderheader is on!

Default Bracket Clamp

I was trying to figure this out myself. I have a 2010 Street Bob and just bought thunderheader pipes for it. Issue that I am running into now is that I wrapped the pipe already. Is the bracket clamp necessary, since it is already going to be held on with the mounting bracket towards the tail end of the pipe?
