13 fat bob - light stage 1 questions
Ok, let my forty eight go for the fat bob. I had cycle shack slip on with no other upgrades. I ran with and without baffles, I prefer no baffles but my wife didn't enjoy them. So I'm looking to be comparable to the cycle shacks with no baffles.
So, starting with the exhaust first then the tuner and finally a/c. My goal for the stage one is mainly a louder bike. I don't race or ride stupid but do open it up on the highway (limit is 75mph but the flow is usually around 80 to 85mph for my daily commute). I do ride year round (15 to 115 degrees).
The cheapest stage 1 I can put together is v+h short shots, dk outlaw 425 with a set of fl-xied's.
I'm hoping this will be as loud as the 48 and if too loud there are other baffles available to tone things down for 2 up. Xieds should help with decel pop some (I hope) and the 425 should open up the view to the jugs.
Not a fan of the 2:1 exhaust (not hating just dont like the look on the fat bob). I really want side shots but they don't fit the 13 according to v+h website. Any other suggestions? Thoughts?
Should be less than 800 (with shipping, tt+l)
Thanks

I have the short shots on mine with a fuel pac and haven't had any issues. I have run with the baffles that came with them and I have run with the baffles not installed. I didn't think was too loud with out baffles but others did and my wife didn't like the ride either so I cut baffles in half and installed them. I like the sound and my wife don't mind riding now.

Instead of the fl-vieds options, consider a micro tuner from fuel moto. I just put one on my 2012 with big radius pipes and dk customs air cleaner and is running very well. All the fl-vieds do is trick the ecm in closed loop mode. Doesn't really do much at all. Spend 90 bucks more and get something that works better and fuel moto has great customer service.

I can't believe I forgot about the micro tuner - I was looking at one of those for the forty eight last year. I'll check it out.
On the exhaust, the reason I ask: my buddy has a wg with the cycle shack slip ons. The forty eight was louder, they we're slash out and his were slash down. His was a lower deeper tone but couldn't hear it until I shut my bike off. This was with the baffles in mine. Was this due to the cats or slash down?
