Default power increase

Can anyone tell me how much more power you get from a stage1 on a 103ci. Horsepower and torque. Please

Hi guys. Sorry I forgot to intro. Just bought a dyna fatbob 2012 with 3000 km on it. Should be taking it out mid to late April. Can't wait for this winter to be over.

I would say less than you would think. In reality I would say 7 is doing good. In fact a stock 103 with a nice pipe, tuner, and a/c I would expect 10% increase maybe more with the perfect tune. I haven't had my breakout dynode yet but I do have a d and d 2 into 1, powervision pv 2 with a map from fuelmoto, and a fuelmoto a/c. The bike runs a lot better and cooler, but don't expect huge numbers without cams at least and probably some headwork and a bump in compression if your cam choice needs it. Real horsepower and torque isn't cheap! just my opinion I am not a builder.....

Yup, about 10% across the range.

So from about 68HP peak to about 75HP peak.

Some people claim silly numbers beyond this but that's usually just BS from the guy doing the tuning or the owner.

You can roughly expect about an 8-10hp and 8-10tq increase with a stage one....opening up the breather, different exhaust and a good tuner/tune.

If you go with a 2-1 exhaust system it will be more. IMO opinion, choosing the right exhaust system is the most important decision performance wise you can make, regardless of your other mods. Whether you like them or not, you're not going to realize the full potential of any mods you do unless you have a good 2-1 system. Looks & sound are personal preferences, but there's no denying the performance benefits of a 2-1 system.

Those numbers may not seem high enough to you, but don't forget you're also adding a lot more response and rideability to the bike. It will make a real noticeable difference to how the bike feels.
If you're looking for numbers to brag about, you'll need to take the next step to cams, headwork and a good tuner/dyno.

`Don`t have any numbers to show, but my sig bike has 2 into 1 along with it being a CVO, and I can`t see any difference in the way it feels power wise to the bike I traded for it (`09 Dyna SG 96"with stage 1 V & H 2 into 2 and S & S dual cone high flow A/C ).

I have a nephew that runs the Dyno at a good size H-D Dealer . He has told me many times the Dyno sheet will show a good horse power gain (it better) even if it is totally stock before and after . He was told people pay for numbers so give them big numbers .

It really is a matter of which A/C you use, which exhaust, and the tune.

If you are looking for peak horsepower, that is pretty easy to get a 10 HP increase...and if you are drag racing, this has value.

But for day to day riding, torque is what you feel, and getting the best torque over the 2500-4500 rpm band will make more difference than any top numbers.

Here's an example-

The following chart shows that there was about a 10% increase is max torque. However, in the RPM range that we do most of our riding in, there was a 16% increase in torque.
