Default 2012 SB - Battery Cover

I must be looking in the wrong place!

Does HD do a black battery cover/strip for the 2012 SB - I cant seem to find it on their site

Like this, but in black;

http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/battery-cover-band

Or do you have a recommendation for another supplier

They don't, but you can easily paint one. Lots of guys have done it.

Thanks

It had been driving me crazy looking for one!!

Surprised there arent others selling black ones either

If painting is the only way to go, so be it!

Cheers

Luckily, even a new one is $29 from MoCo. Probably even cheaper at Surdyke.

Look into the DupliColor truck bed liner in a rattle can. It looks a lot like wrinkle finish powder coat and it costs about $8 a can. I've used it on a lot of stuff. Practice first though, it really comes out of the can in a hurry.

If your looking for gloss finish, the appliance paint is very shiny.

Thanks guys - will look at the truck bed liner and the self etching stuff

Looking at a flat black finish and have a can of that which seems to be pretty good

Cheers

Check out my post on Plasti dip. I just did the strip on my cover and it cost 6.00 and took a hour. It leaves a bit of a wrinkle finish, not quite as much as the factory is but I think it give it a good contrast. It matches the flat black of my V+H Pipes so it all works well together.

Get the battery cover off a 2013-2014. No band at all, much better looking.

Thanks again guys

jdub099 - cant find a black cover on the HD website for the 2013-2014 model??

JRK5892 - probably too expensive just for a small piece on the battery cover??

STFrancis - going to try that option and see how it goes - if no good, can simply peel it off

Thanks

Love that bike!!!!!!!

But yea, exactly it peels off. Powder coat or paint would be the Best way in reality though.
