PCV going south?
Ran into a problem. Bike would not start. Replaced battery. Ran good for a few minutes. Engine stopped. Would not start again.
Pulled pcv wiring. Cleaned connections, put fresh die electric grease. Bike cranked. Ran good for a few minutes. Now when riding at a constant speed it cuts out like there is water in the fuel. During acceleration it clears up and runs perfect then as I get at a constant speed again it starts all over. I can give it a little gas, throttle, it clears up then I can back off the throttle and it clears up.
I have never run into this before. I am thinking the PCV is going south.
any ideas or has anyone run across this before.
For got
2010 Wide glide
ss106
SS585 cams.

From what my mechanic told me a few years ago, that's a pretty common thing with PC's. They definitely have a "life span". He told me he makes a lot of $$$$ taking PC's off bikes after a couple years and replacing them with something else. Now, I'm sure you'll get lots of responses from guys who've "had mine for years with no trouble". They're lucky, IMHO. I'd never buy one again.

To believe it or not I think I got it.
The bike had sat from time to time for a couple of months. Found moisture at the fittings. used die electric grease as mention in the op.
Went back cleaned it again.
Now it seems to back to normal.
I only got in a 15 mile ride. Before it would have started way before then.
Just touch the starter now and it is running. Like it use to be some time ago.

I have had good service from my PCV's.
Had one on my 07 Ultra traded at 60,000 miles or 5 years.
This one has been on it for 3 years now.
This is the first for me.
Maybe a FI2000 can take care of cams now. I don't know.
I will know Friday if it doesn't rain. Got to drop a bike off farther south tomorrow.
