Power Cdmr Problem
Hey All, Recently installed a new PCV w/map into my bro's 09 Glide. Had him test ride it (FWY entrance ramp) and he couldn't get the smile off his mug. He rides 35 miles home, parks, comes out later to show off, and the bike won't start! Sputters, backfires, no start. He disconnects the PCV and it starts right up.
Tech Support says it's the manner in which the bike is started.
1. Turn on ignition
2. Run switch to run
3. Immedieatly start the bike, do not wait for the fuel pump to cycle.
Haven't tried this yet,the explanation, if I remember correctly had to do with the PCV being powered on the fuel pump circut.
I have a PCIII on my 02 Glide, and it starts and runs normally. Is this for real?
If I have to stand on 1 foot and rub my belly next, I'll go with the overpriced HD Tuner.
Thanks

Yes this is how you start the bike with the PCV. It will start much better this way.
Something about the PCV hasn't interrupted the ECM signals yet and allows a easier start.
Now mine, and not sure if it's any1 else has issues like this if it don't fire up right a way ( like it normally does) ya better grab some throttle and then it will take right off. Mines like this when quick restarts say at the gas station.
It's a 2 beer bike stop now during summer, but not because of the PCV
And no you dont have to stand on one leg, rub your belly and your head at the same time.

He's bummed, hit 115 and still had alot to twist with the PCV.

The bike should still start it just starts better with method mentioned above and that is the way to do it for sure. You need to check all the settings are correct throttle position etc, also make sure you have the correct firmware installed. Do yourself a favor and talk to Jamie or Keith at Fuelmoto they will get you trouble shot real quick.

I had the exact same problem. 5 calls to tech "support" and 1 remote connection came up with all kinds of things to try and 1 "I have no idea", even the, starting it wrong thing. Nothing helped. Did not buy from fuel moto so that was not an option. Considered it a very expensive lesson and went with SE and dyno. I like the idea of no extra parts under the seat and all is fine now.
I wanted to add the Harley dyno guy said my TBW was bad (I never noticed and issues with it) and he replaced it under warranty. Said it could have been causing the starting problem with the PCV, I don't know for sure, never reconnected the PCV.
