After you get it running I would connect the lap top and set the throttle positions the closed position set .68 and I can't remember the open position Jammie recommends I think it's 4.68 My bike is being painted or I would check. I would also make sure the start up fuel is off
You want to make sure voltages are being reached every time that's why you use the .68 as the closed position even though it's probably about .58-.62
There's a thread in here some where (can't find) where Jammie mentions the voltages to use open and closed. Iclick as has a good write up on the PCV you could always give Jammie at Fuel Moto a call.
My bike will also start by letting the fuel pump finish, but it starts much easier by turning the key on, the kill switch followed by immediately the start button. This is what Jammie recommends and is all over the internet as how to best start with the PCV. Even the crotch rockets start easier, do a Google search it's just the way the PCV was designed.
starting back in 07, hd changed the way the electronics worked on the bikes. if you waited until the 'check engine light' went out, then when you hit the start switch, the pc had to power up all over again, going through it's internal diagnostics which would make it take a little longer to fire over.
for some reason, a lot of people get wrapped around the axle over the starting procedure. the manual states that the cel will go out after app 4 seconds. it doesn't mention having to wait for it to go out. but a lot of hd salesmen will tell you that you have to.
i do know that on my 07, if you hit the start switch, too quick, then the speedo would be way off, like reading 20 mph at 70 off. but, if i flipped the run switch on, gave the fuel pump 'a second' to pressurize, then hit the start switch, i would have no problems.
Just bought 2012 flhx, looking to install new exhaust while illiminating the convertor,i would like something loud and deep, been thinking about vance and hines dresser duals and rinehart slip ons,any thoughts?
my fault wanted to start new tread however i had pcv on my fatboy and yes u have to start it right away or it will crank excessively if you wait for the engine light to shut off
