Hey all, just a few pics of the progress on my '12 FXDF. Finally got around to painting the batwing and installed the apes (good learning experience working on my bike). Its a much more comfortable ride with the apes.

Apes are comfortable except the parachute-effect, but I guess with the fairing you can do some serious miles on that one...

I am honestly still very much out to lunch on the whole batwing on a dyna look. They look good from one angle, then not so much from a different angle. I think if FL style hard bags are there it balances out the look as well.

Practicality wise I get it, just not sold yet on the aesthetics.....

Always wondered what a Road glide style fairing would like like on a fatbob. The dual headlights and all.....

 

Hi old thread revival, what bars and fairing did you use here? Trying to setup my bike similar

 

I know this is really old, but can you tell me what bars you have? Just installed this fairing and it hits my 10” mini apes

 

Still running stock drag bar on mine with bat wing and works for me

 

Thanks Czracer. My 14 came with 10” mini apes and I was hoping not to change bars. Sure enough, went to adjust my bars back up and the master hits the shield. May have to look into a stock bar set up

 

you gotta do what's most comfortable for you . Mine is the only bike I ever sat on that fit me perfectly right for the start . Only changed the seat so far and added the fairing. I have a Harley quick release windshield as well but like the fairing more .

 

What seat are you running? I was looking for something more comfortable for the wife. Curious what size shield you are running. I am starting with the 6.5 recurve but it looks a little too low after sitting yesterday. I am definitely keeping the fairing. Will change bars to accommodate it
