Default Bike wont turn over

Hey guys, i have an 06 street bob and last night i went for a ride and met some brothers everything seemed fine and rode to another spot for an hour and my bike wouldnt start. The battery is good, starter cranks and has a full tank. Today i pulled my power commander and it still wouldnt turn over. Does anyone know any common starting issues with these? Any advice would be helpfull.

Thanks!!!

If it cranks it turns over. Do you mean it won't fire?

I don't know but it could be the coil has gone on you. Try pulling the plugs out of the jugs and turn the bike over and see if you have spark to the plugs.

If you have spark, then look at fuel system. Fuel pump relay could be shot or just have dirty contacts. You could also have a hole in the fuel line inside the tank.

Well, you could just swap the ignition coil (~$100) and crank position sensor (~$60-$75), and or the ignition module (~$300+) and see if that gets it going. Or you can get a shop manual and perform the ignition coil resistance test and eliminate that. There is no easy way to check the crank position sensor, though. Checking the ignition coil is a pretty basic check of the resistance of the coils and not too difficult to interpret the results if you know how to use and read an ohmmeter. If the coil tests good, then spring for the sensor...or better still, take it to a pro.

If you don't have a book, get one ASAP. If you are planning on doing the maintenance on your ride yourself, you are going to need one.

Good luck and let us know how it goes...
