Default I want my 2005 Heritage to Last But...

The cam tensioner issue has me concerned. It has 20K miles on it currently. I don't like worrying about plastic shoes giving up. Is it possible to use the SE conversion and swap to the Zipper tensioners at the same time?

If so, how much do you think it would cost to have this done and are there any shops in middle TN you'd recommend? I would like to get this done before riding season, as I often ride 75 miles to work and back each day once the weather allows.

Thanks,
Paul

Some of the early chains did have burrs left on the links that caused premature wear on those shoes.
At the miles you have, I'd bet dollars to donuts that those burrs, if any, are now polished off.
When we see the need we use Cyco shoes.

The conversion kit from SE is a very nice upgrade and will include all the parts you need. Not that you cannot use cyco replacement shoe's if you decide to stay with stock and keep cost lower. Both will get the job done.

Save your money on the fancy plate, and use it instead, for gas/tires/oil changes.
