Default Tc88 upgrade help!

Hello i have a 2000 flhtc looking for advice on what to go with . My riding style is agressive mixed highway and city . Looking into the s&s sidewinder or 98ci kit . List of mods right now are bassani road rage b1 , dnyatek ign, stealth ac , yost cv carb kit . Would love close to 100 rwhp but also not looking for anything over 1,500 bucks ( i know alittle tight) . Also would i have to change the exhaust as im changing bore size or are the manafolds going to fit? Plan on alittle diy car boring and rejetting.

100HP is attainable with a 98" kit but in addition to the increased displacement, head work will be required. Suggest you contact forum sponsors Hillside and VeeTwin Performance; both offer 98" kits with proven results and you won't get a better deal anywhere else. Google both, call, chat them up to discuss your plan and pick one or the other to work with.

I don't know that you need to change the exhaust; the B1 pipe is not a bad performer and it will work with a 98" motor. I can tell you from personal experience, proved it to myself on the dyno, the CV carb will produce better results with all original parts than aftermarket. I saw HP go from 108 to 110 and torque go from 121 to 124 simply by removing the Yost kit from my CV44 and returning all OEM parts. The change also resulted in slightly better mileage. Dyno work done on same day, same dyno; I know, not huge numbers but just sayin......................
