2014 softail slim 2,300 miles - solo riding...

Thinking of installing SE255 - can I just replace the cams and rods and be fine? Leave the tappets?

Will get a Dyno tune and go with a power vision or SE tuner.

Inner cam bearings should be replaced with Koyo B138's. Stock bearings are not full compliment.

I would also replace the lifters with good quality aftermarket parts like S&S or Gaterman. The stock lifters (and S/E) are made in Mexico and are prone to failure, even in low mileage engines.

Do the hd warranty fears have you leaning to the 255?

Not really, I'm still undecided between SE 254E, 255 or the S&S MR103

Yes, thanks. Are you thinking about the MR-103 ? Installing yourself?

If you want it to run cooler than the 255, with the same characteristics and make more hp as well............Andrews 48.

Default Changing to SE255

Smokey Stover, the 103's don't come with SE/CVO255 unless the bike in question is a CVO. The 2013 come with the same came as the 96" just more cubic inches...2014 is a "combination" cam between a 204/255.... 2015 Road Glide will also have this "new" cam, not a SE255. CSM-H
