If I change from incandescent bulbs to LED's in my turnsignal indicators will I have to change my flashers to the electronic type?
I had to change the flashers in my Shovelhead to get them to work is why I ask.
I failed to mention that this is in a 1998 Road King.
LED's draw less current the regular bulbs so something has to change...
i had to have a load equalizer put in... at least that is how it was explained to me.
Yes, you'll have to use a ballast resistor (AKA "load equalizer...") to match the resistance of what you have in the bulb now. Without it, your fancy computerized turn signal controller will freak out. I think there are aftermarket controllers out there that can handle LED's, though, and people have a lot of trouble with the stock ones.
Also note that it is hard to find a LED turn signal that will fit in the housing and actually be brighter than a regular bulb.
I looked at the Bandlands III Load Equalizers and it appears that I need two, one for the front turn signals and one for the back. At about $65.00 each, I think that I will ponder if the gains outweigh the costs.

Why two?
I put in a badlands module last year on my 95 heritage.
