Default Anyone running Mikuni with Andrews ev27?

Hey to all you Evo riders. I just fitted an Andrews ev27 to my Bad Boy ( which is running on an HSR 42 and a Dyno 2000 inanition.)
Anyone got any tips on jet and needle adjustments to get this combo running at its best. I am still on the stock needle and 160 main.
Just feeling I am not getting the best out of her yet.

I'm sure one of our experts will be along shortly to answer your question. In the meantime interesting brickwork (and nice bike)! Where are you based?

FWIW when I changed my cam to a 27 I didn't have to mess with the carb at all.

Ride it for a while and check your plugs.
That will tell you what you need to know.

Based in England ( west of London near Windsor).
The bike is running good without messing with the crab, but I had the same set up on a 96 Road King a few years back, and if felt like it put out more power.

Two basic options old chap: have a gentle tinker, one item at a time; or engage the services of a specialist who can either tune by ear or dyno. He's a long way from both you and I, but I had my old carb Glide dynoed at Matts Machine Shop, South Wales. Runs a treat!

Graham. Thanks for that. Yes, I have used the guys at Matts many years ago. Its a fair way to go from me but I am in Brecon in a weeks time so maybe a ride up there would be in order. This time of year any tuner worth his salts going to be snowed under with work though. I just got a 162.5 and a 165 main yet. I am going try them tomorrow and see how that goes. I'll let you know.

I fitted the 165 main jet this morning and just got back from test riding. Big difference. Pulls much more confidently through to red line and no stuttering when slamming the throttle wide open. Very happy with the set up now. She is thumping like a sorted Evo should.
