Default 1994 Inner primary bearing

On my 1994 Softail, I want to replace the inner primary bearing. I took out the seal and both snap rings and have tried lightly hammering it out with a bearing driver but it won't budge. Is this bearing pressed in? Thanks.

yes, but it should just be in there snug. It might have been installed with some Locktite. Perhaps you can use a couple sockets and a long bolt (or all-thread) to push it out. I prefer that method rather than beating on it .

Clean the housing well and take a scratch awl or something similar and gently clean the area where the bearing and housing meet and spray with a little liquid wrench or similar. Get a1/2" drive socket that just fits the diameter of the inner primary then support the underside of the inner primary plate and gently tap out the old bearing from tranny side to primary side with a 32 oz dead blow should work fine.

When I did the IPB the outer race came out of the housing with minimal effort, but the inner race on the shaft was very hard. If there's loctite green on it don't you need to get it to a certain temperature before it will budge? Not sure if it is but might be worth a try. I don't know if the bearing goes in from both sides are you pushing it inwards and not towards the outside, you should have the finished side of primary cover facing up at you?
