There system shuts the system down when the battery has been fully charged.
OEM grounds system to bike. Difference is the comp-u-fire system will increase your fuel mileage because it un-loads the electrical system.
Been using this on both bikes for 5+yrs with on problems.
BTW: Replace everything stator, regulator, and rotor. It doesn't cost that much more and insures a compatible system. If you replace only one part you will be replacing the others later and you don't know what damage you have done to the replaced part.

How does it stop the magnetic field from occurring since the magnets are still spinning around the stator? Good sale pitch, but not accurate. The field is always there if it is spinning and causes some loss due to resistance.
