Electra Trade Question
A newbie here, so if I am in the wrong place feel free to yell at me and send me packing.
Question is I have a chance to trade my 09 Nightster for a 1990 Ultra Classic Electra Glide. It is not the cleanest bike but over great shape. It runs strong and it just recently had the top end done. It has 60k miles.
I think its a no brainer but wonder how that first gen fuel injection is on that bike. thoughts?

First thought is that any big twin is an improvement over a sportster.
Second thought is that a '90 shouldn't have EFI!!!
Can you post pictures of it?????????/

For reference I paid $5K for my stock 1991 EG with 36K miles. That was right at BB value for my area. If the top end was indeed done (receipts?) and it runs strong, I would say it's a fairly decent trade. Do your due diligence on the value of your Nightster. My 1st impressions are you would be getting more of a bike in the end. Mileage wouldn't scare me, I mean it is 25 yrs old.
I will add tho the model years from 1989-1991 are hard to find decent upgrades for beyond the mechanical. LIke adjustable floor boards, aftermarket seats, fairings and things like that. Seems those years were more of prototyping and R&D. From 1992 or 1993 and on things get a little more standardized.

Electra Trade Question
Am I the only one that thinks the Nightster is worth more? You should be able to cash out at a dealership and get more for it than you need to buy the 90 if it's not in great shape. If it's in need of some work you'd be better off having some cash in your pocket. Have you looked into just unloading it and buying the glide cash instead?

If you like the bike, it sounds like it would be a good fit.
