Default How much air goes into the suspension

I am having trouble following the manual again. I'm trying to figure how much air is suppose to be pumped into the rear shocks and front forks from 0. Btw the rear shocks are from a 96.

Not Much. They sell a syringe to pump them up. I run about 20 PSI front and rear.

Where are your owners and service manuals?! On earlier bikes like my 1990 Glide the max pressure for the forks is 25psi, for the shocks it is 20 psi. Over the years the specs changed occasionally, but I suspect yours are the same as mine. Think of a number, try it out and adjust from there. It's pointless asking us what we use as we will each give you different numbers!

You can buy a fancy air pump with guage on Ebay, or spend a lot more at a dealer, but none of those were available when I bought my bike new, so I used a small cheap bicycle pump throughout, with a separate low pressure tyre gauge.

The hd pump is actually pretty good, it has a zero loss valve, so you lose no pressure disconnecting. And its tapered to reach inside the left grip if your zerk is there on your bike,Its a thread on nipple. maybe 50 bucks but i bet ya can get on on ebay or such cheaper

I'm going to re-enforce what has already been posted: Get a dedicated air suspension pump. DO NOT use an air compressor!!!! You will blow out the seals on the rear shocks. I wouldn't recommend using a bicycle pump either, because they push too large a volume of air with each stroke. If you're careful the bicycle pump may work in a pinch, but I wouldn't use a full stroke. I picked up a couple air suspension pumps up off Amazon for around $30 a piece, so that's the best solution.

I use my air compressor, I turn the regulator down to 20 psi.

I run 10-12 lbs on my 98 RKC. 20 lbs is too stiff for me.

Definitely use a shock pump for adding air to your suspension parts. Small volume so using anything else increases the chances of blowing a seal.

Here are the tables from the FSM:

Just noticed there isn't information in the FSM regarding the front air specs for 95-98.

I keep my front around 15 psi so hopefully it's the same as the '84-'94.
