S%S super E or 42mm Mikuni ?
Winter is soon upon us, And that means It's time to spend some more money!! Last year I did the andrews 46 cam, and this year year I'm doing 10:1 wiseco pistons, porting the heads, new ignition and new carb. Still on the fence with what carb to run! I heard good things about both of them but i could use some advice on which is on best on my set up....... Any opinions out there fellas ? Thanks, Frank

It has been my experience that all properly tuned butterfly type carbs have a "dip" in the torque and HP curves. The slide types properly tuned do not. The S&S is a good carb, but the technology is somewhat dated. The Mikuni is a crisp and extremely tunable carb. I would reccomend the Mikuni. Hope this helps.

The older mickys' sound sucky! I've not run a micky but have heard great things of the newer ones. I prefere the supers, though 'cause ya can jet 'em without pulling 'em off the bike. My stock '04 Standard has to come off to get at the insides. So, I just got a super E for next year. I had one on my '78 FXLH and it was a great carb fot that bike and sold me on S&S.
